LaBelle, Florida is a picturesque small town nestled along the Caloosahatchee River in southwest Florida. Location & Size

LaBelle is situated in Hendry County, approximately 30 miles east of Fort Myers and about 14.5 square miles, with a blend of residential neighborhoods, farmland, and scenic riverfront.

Founded

The area was settled in the late 19th century and named “LaBelle” in 1896 by Captain Francis A. Hendry, honoring his daughters, Laura and Belle.

LaBelle was officially incorporated as a town in 1911 and later as a city in 1925.

Originally a hub for cattle ranching and agriculture, LaBelle became the county seat when Hendry County was formed in 1923.
