Estero, Florida is located in southwest Florida along the Gulf Coast, nestled between Fort Myers to the north and Bonita Springs to the south, in Lee County. Estero is approximately 25.4 square miles, with 24.4 square miles of land and 1 square mile of water.

It’s conveniently situated near:

  • Interstate 75 (I-75) – providing easy access north to Tampa or south to Naples.

  • Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) – just about 15–20 minutes away.

  • Gulf beaches – like Barefoot Beach and Lovers Key are a short drive west.

Founded

Originally settled in the late 19th century, Estero was home to the Koreshan Unity, a utopian community. The village was officially incorporated on December 31, 2014.
